Universal Screening in Action: K-2 Reading Screener Implementation Report

Legislation passed in 2023 (SB 114) is now rolling out to California classrooms, meaning 1.2 million K-2 students will be screened for reading difficulties, including risk of dyslexia, for the first time in the state’s history. This is a major milestone in the new policy’s implementation. As such, EdVoice Institute has released a report on school adoption of state-approved screener tools and future implementation considerations.
