Teacher Shortage Solutions Policy Brief

Every Child, Every Classroom: Lasting Solutions for California's Teacher Shortage
EdVoice Institute and its coalition partners have produced a comprehensive policy brief outlining evidence-based strategies to support the state's teacher recruitment, preparation, and retention efforts in high-needs schools. The brief is to serve as a roadmap for state leaders and advocates as they address California's persistent teacher shortage.
California's Challenge
Nearly 1 in 5

40%
more teachers in high-poverty schools lack necessary qualifications compared to higher-income schools
1 in 10
